Welcome to the Spring Glen PTA

October message from the PTA President

WOW!! Are we moving in the right direction for the students of Spring Glen School!! We have afterschool programs going strong, some fundraisers completed and more planned, and enrichment programs on the horizon.

Kudos to the following PTA members who have made things look so easy:

Christy Czekaj (Membership VP) – our numbers are growing!!!
Heather Wainwright (Treasurer) – keeping the budget in order
Allison Rosenberg (Fundraising VP) – growing the treasury with our first fundraisers of the season: Spiritwear and Mums
Eve Sansone – taking minutes at our first meeting
Nelson Bernal – encouraging members to get involved
Lei Wang and Lisa Micali – posting all our information digitally
Howard Hornreich – supporting the PTA

And many thanks to the following members who stepped up to take on leadership roles:
Book Fair – Michelle Valerio and Christy Asch
Box Tops – Bennie Finch
Directory – Leslie Zurolo
6th Grade event planners – Annie Powers and Tim Trama
Election Day Bake Sale – Tammy Kleinman and Kristen Talwalker
The Mini Grant committee members (includes both teachers and parents)

Say “YES” when they reach out to you for assistance.

Many thanks to Spring Glen’s Secretary Taryn Donnarummo for her support – and our office staff – Rose and Kelly!

And Custodians John Laborde and Todd Toronato and Dimetris for their help with the MUM sale. And my retired (from the Wallingford School system ) sister, Mindy, whom I recruited to help at the Mum sale and Book Fair!

The Fall Fair / Haunted House is on October 28th. Watch for the flyers. This is a terrific 6th Grade “fun-raiser.”

On November 2nd PTA will host an informational meeting on the new “Standards Based” Report Cards. It will be held in the Media Center at 6 pm. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend. No babysitting will be available.

Please give us an hour or two to help sell your delicious baked goods on Election Day – November 8th. Voters and Spring Glen families will also be dropping off their clean, used clothing and household donations in the school parking lot. We will need able-bodies (of all ages) at 2 pm to load the truck of all our donated items.

Help your kids understand what it is to be a volunteer. It’s a great feeling. Check out the website – http://www.fashionrepublicinc.com to understand the purpose and the need to donate.

Have a great month!
